Welcome to Alamogordo

Alamogordo's high desert climate; natural beauty all around; skiing in the mountains on the winter mornings and golfing in the desert that afternoon; friendly welcoming residents are just a few reasons the City is a popular destination for tourists from all over the world. The gem of the area, White Sands National Monument, greets you with great wave-like ever-changing dunes of glistening gypsum. Filmmakers and photographers are drawn to the area to capture this and the other magnificent geological formations of the region.

Alamogordo is adjacent to Holloman Air Force Base, home of the F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Fighter, T-38 fighter, 46th Test Group, allied fighter pilot training missions and 48th Rescue and home of the F-22 Fighters, known as the Raptor.
